Most houses here have the service capacity for a Level 2 charger, and an attached garage close to the panel makes for a short job.

Detached garages are the local complication. A run across a paved driveway means trenching or boring, and that is a different line on the estimate.

A load calculation gives you the real answer. Sometimes there is room and the panel simply needs reorganising. Sometimes a subpanel solves it for a fraction of what a service change costs.

Many communities here also have architectural review. For anything visible outdoors we start both approvals at the same time rather than one after the other.

Recessed lighting is the most requested indoor upgrade, usually alongside a kitchen renovation. We chalk the positions and walk them with you before cutting anything.

Colour temperature does more for a room than fixture count. Warm light around 2700K suits living areas, and kitchens usually want something slightly cooler.

Outdoors, larger lots need a hub layout rather than long daisy chains, because voltage drop over distance leaves the last fixture dim and yellow.

A dead receptacle in a kitchen, garage, bathroom or exterior wall is very often downstream of a ground-fault device elsewhere. Garages are the usual hiding place.

Breakers that trip repeatedly tell you which fault you have. Overload trips slowly under load. A short trips instantly. A ground fault trips the protective device rather than the breaker.
